The Bavarian Academic Center for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (BAYHOST) and the Leibniz-Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) are organizing a Ukrainian- Bavarian Conference on Double Degree Programs from 4-5 May in Regensburg, Germany.
Enhancing cooperation with Ukrainian universities during times of war and beyond is the objective of the conference. Double degree programs offer Ukrainian students the possibility to study in Ukraine and do a part of their studies at a foreign partner university. In the end, they receive both a Ukrainian and a foreign degree or one joint degree. The courses at the foreign university may also be delivered online when physical mobility is impossible. In addition, double degree programs facilitate international cooperation of university teachers and contribute to the internationalization of syllabi.
The conference aims to initiate new double degree programs. In the information session, important aspects and procedures for establishing and accrediting double degree programs both in Bavaria and in Ukraine will be explained. Coordinators of already existing Ukrainian-German study programs will present their courses and share their experience. DAAD will provide information on suitable funding programs for developing and running double degree programs with Ukraine.
The conference is directed to university teachers and managers who are interested in the topic and responsible for international study programs. In working groups related to different academic fields, they can present proposals for cooperation and establish new contacts.
For a certain number of participants, BAYHOST can provide free accommodation in Regensburg and travel grants (to be indicated in the online application form). As the conference will be organized in a hybrid format, online participation is possible, too.
The program and the link for the registration are available at the BAYHOST website:
